The Moorings

This residential-led mixed use scheme has created a much sought after development within the in the heart of Garstang. The project was completed in 2008 and the designs have proven timeless, complementing the site's unique topography and picturesque canal basin setting. Alongside the residential dwellings and apartments, the project also included delivery of the award-winning Wyrebank function space. The Moorings has created beautiful spaces through carefully designed built infrastructure and we are delighted with the end result that enhances Garstang’s built tapestry.

Ridgy Pool Farm

This agricultural diversification scheme has created some truly beautiful homes from dilapidated farm buildings. The designs proved a huge success with purchasers, with the barns achieving sales values well in excess of the developers forecast market values. Alongside the detailed designs for the project, our team also secured the all-important planning consent that ultimately generated the value uplift. Ridgy Pool Farm was a huge success, providing a significant investment return for the developer, three beautiful homes for the purchasers and through carefully designed built infrastructure, retained the historic agri-tapestry of the farm.

Gubberford Fields

This residential scheme was undertaken on behalf of an independent house builder, with the commission included full planning and architectural services. The setting of the site warranted the creation of some truly awe-inspiring executive properties, to maximise the uninterrupted views afforded across the Forest of Bowland area of outstand natural beauty. Each house was crafted from beautiful, solid Yorkshire stone, finished under slate, and detailed with bespoke glazing features. The finished products are testament to the amalgamation of exquisite design with expert construction capabilities.

Snow Hill Barn

This project involved the creation of a bespoke house extension, complete with triple garage. The complexity was delivering the necessary floor area, while not undermining the traditional characteristic of the original barn. To ensure the brick character barn remained focal, a dark Marley Eternit cladding was specified, complete with dark framed glazing and a lower brick course to aid assimilation. The client was delighted with the finished project and relishes the panoramic views afforded by the new glazing features.

Nicolsons Farm House

Simplicity in design on a traditional farm house is difficult to surmount. With all the modern designs and unique projects that we get involved with, it was refreshing to be commissioned to deliver this stunning traditional build. We sought to deliver a dwelling that was compatible with modern family life, however it also needed to pay homage to the site’s agricultural history. The simple clean lines and symmetrical windows, fitted with traditional sliding sash windows are just a thing of beauty. While we love modern designs that push boundaries, a traditional build in the correct setting is just perfection.

Ratcliffe Wharf Barn

This project was commissioned of behalf of the landowner who had former piggery buildings which had become surplus to commercial requirements. Gaining consent for the project proved a complex case given the presence of a safety hazard zone, however after extensive negations consent was granted for three dwellings. The project proved immensely beneficial for the client’s agribusiness, allowing the redundant barns to become a significant funding resource.

Lees Farm

The client approached our team having received a negative response from the council on their plans for a large domestic extension. The main concerns from the council centred on the erosion of the existing character and appearance of the host dwelling. To appease these concerns our team proposed a complete redesign utilised glazing, modern materials, and existing infrastructure, to deliver an extension that surpassed client expectations. The design delivered both the floor area necessary to enable the dwelling to function as a modern family home, while complementing the character of the extant dwelling.

Former Church Inn

Working on sites that are symbolic to the history of a community always creates numerous challenges and opportunities. The Church Inn project in Garstang was no different, with the former pub no longer commercially viable the aim was to secure the longevity of this iconic building, while maximising the potential for the client and host community. The resultant project has seen the key characteristics of the site retained, including the re-exposure of the original stonework, while delivering 11 dwellings from the building and surrounding land. We are delighted with the development that enhances the local vernacular and provides high quality family homes.
